PEC Core Compliance

Accredited by SafeLandUSA and by SafeGulf, PEC Core Compliance is a high-intensity three-day course designed to engage students and build knowledge, security, and personal recognition of safety practices and prevention of on-the-job injury and illness.

Students will learn to recognize, prevent, avoid, and reduce safety and health hazards in the workplace.

PEC Core Compliance provides full or awareness level classroom instruction on more than 40 health, safety, or environmental topics.

The PEC Core Compliance course delivers instruction and then tests student understanding of the safety topics most commonly required by oil and gas operators in their pre-qualification surveys and training matrices.

What does PEC mean?

PEC stands for the Petroleum Education Council, a non-profit organization that supports the oil and gas industry by developing educational resources, programs, and services.

The PEC Core Compliance course is the first step in getting PEC certified.

In the PEC Core Compliance course, you will learn about more than 40 health, safety, and environmental topics.

You will also take a test at the end of the course to show that you understand the material.

Once you pass the PEC Core Compliance course, you will be eligible to take the PEC Basic Orientation (PBO) course.

The PBO course is the second step in getting PEC certified.

In the PBO course, you will learn about specific safety procedures for your job.

You will also take a test at the end of the course to show that you understand the material.

Once you pass the PBO course, you will be PEC certified.

  • PEC certification is valid for three years.
  • You will need to take the PEC Core Compliance course and the PBO course again if you want to renew your certification.

How is the PEC Core Compliance 3-day Course Evaluated?

The PEC Core Compliance course is evaluated through a written test.

You will need to score 70% or higher on the test to pass the course.

PEC Core Compliance Training Certifications

PEC Core Compliance is a 3-day certification course. You will receive a certificate of completion if you pass the course.

The certificate is valid for three years. You will need to take the course again if you want to renew your certification.
